Parent Teacher Conferences
On November 13th and 15th Havel will be having parent-teacher conferences. Conferences are an opportunity to extend the lines of communication between home and school, keep families informed about their children's academic and social progress, and develop two-way communication strategies that invite family engagement and improve student learning. Teachers will be sharing academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, testing data, assessments, & assignments. They will discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students' learning and will also discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning and growth.
Your child's success in the classroom is dependent on the teacher, the student, and the parent/home/teacher connection. Our goal is that 100% of our families participate in conferences in the coming weeks.
Thank you in advance for being our partner in your child's education.
1st Quarter Report Cards
During November, Havel will distribute reports cards electronically. The first marking period grades will be sent electronically to families after scheduled parent-teacher conferences at the end of the day on Friday, November 16, 2018.
To receive the report cards, parents will need to have a secure PowerSchool account. Parents who do not have access to a PowerSchool account will need to register for one prior to Friday, November 9. The report cards will then be automatically e-mailed to the address that is used to register the PowerSchool account. If you already have a PowerSchool account, you do not need to take any further action. The report card automatically will be sent to you electronically.
Please note that if you have students in junior high school and high school, the reports cards will be electronically sent by the end of the day, Friday, November 9, 2018.
