What We've Been Doing This Week
This week was our last week of our bug unit. Our students had so much fun learning about and making some different bugs. We read the books 10 Little Caterpillars and I Can See Bugs.
We continued to learn about the letter "R" and the number "9." We worked on the color white and the diamond shape.
Fun Day
We will be joining the East Side Fun Day events at River View Park on June 7th. Please make sure your child comes to school wearing sunblock and sneakers. Please make sure your child also has a hat to wear. We will be outside all day. We will return to East Side School at 1:30. If you would like to send your child with a lunch, please let us know by June 6th. Otherwise, we will make sure to grab a bagged lunch for them.
Donuts with Dad
We are inviting all of our dads to join us in our classroom on June 15th at 1:30 for some donuts and treats and to celebrate all the wonderful things our dads do. We will be holding our event before the DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) event.
DEAR
East Side will be having another Drop Everything and Read Event with our families on June 15th. Our event will begin at 2:00. We welcome families and friends to come in and read to your student. Popcorn and other snacks will be provided for our families. Please fill out the sheet sent home on Friday, June 2nd and let us know you will be attending.
Moving Up Day
To celebrate all the growth and achievements our students have achieved this year, we will be having a Moving Up ceremony on the last day of school (June 22nd) at 10:00 a.m. It will be held in our classroom. We invite all families and friends to attend the event.
GTA Flag Day Walk/Run
The Gouverneur's Teacher Association (GTA) will be having a Flag Day Walk/Run on June 10th at 10:00 a.m. Part of the run will be a Fun Run for children. I will be one of the teacher's leading this event. I encourage all students to come and participate.
