Weekly Staff Letter
April 23rd - April 26th
Keeping with Expectations...
Please address all things or issues as if it were the first few weeks of school. If you feel things getting a little loose, quickly circle up and discuss "Looks Like, Sounds Like, and Feels Like" to get things back on track and reground students with our expectations. The following are the things that typically come up the most at the end of the school year.
Classtime/Schedule: Students will try to talk you into letting them "go" early or "out" to get something. Don't fall victim to these classic middle school requests! If you need to let students out to "go get something..." please only send one at a time. (This is also a trick...99.9% of the tasks at this school only require one person)
Reminders: It is getting warmer fast...Please address any student who is inappropriately dressed or wearing a hat/hood.
DO NOT allow students to draw/write/color on themselves or others. It is the responsibility of us ALL to address it if we see it happening. This creates classroom distractions and a type of competition between the students that gets out of control fast. If it does not wash off they will be sent home.
If you hear whining on any of the basic rules we have had all year please make me the bad guy. If students choose not to follow your directives please send them to the office for their folder, if they need to stay in the office let us know and we'll keep them. Again, make me and the rule the reason you have to send them.
NWEA Testing this week!
