The Otoe County and Nebraska 4-H Awards program begins with the 4-H members doing their best and recording their accomplishments.
Now is the time of year to tell us what you have learned and to apply for a 4-H award by completing your 4-H Achievement Application.
There are MANY awards offered: medals, cash, trips, and scholarships. The deadline is Friday, October 1 for the 4-H Achievement Application to be turned into the Extension Office.
In the August “Tips on Tap” you'll find the 3-page Otoe County 4-H Entry Sheet and Otoe County Awards form. These pages tell you what is necessary to apply for each award.

Launching Nebraska-nauts
Launching Nebraska-nauts Program Information
Why in the world should I get involved in this program? Let’s think for a second about how past and present space exploration has impacted us in our everyday lives…
- Did you know the first irradiated break used in space, including on Apollo 11 when we landed on the Moon, was created in UNL’s Food Innovation Lab? (Lincoln Journal Star article)
- Did you know growing plants in space can help us learn more about growing crops in drought stricken areas here on Earth?
- How many of you watch the weather every day to decide what to wear?
- How many of you rely on GPS when you are going somewhere new?
- How many of you utilize that cell phone sitting near you on a regular basis for looking up information, to communicate?
