Russian Animals
Sables, ermines, and mink live in the forests of Russia. They are small animals. Sables have the most valuable fur of all weasels. Larger animals in this area include the polar fox, silver fox, and elk.
Other animals that live in southeastern Russia are black bears, Amur tigers, and Amur leopards. These animals were named for the Amur River.
Only a few animals can live in the tundra. Polar bears, reindeer, and arctic foxes like the cold. Seals and walruses swim in the sea and north of the tundra.
