Thank You to the Principal's Student Advisory Committee!

We had our first student advisory committee meeting this past Friday morning in the CHS Library. The committee discussed issues related to communication, code of conduct, instruction, and school culture. The committee is undertaking a VLOG project with the help and guidance of Ms. Brooks and Mrs. Ganoe. We are looking to expand this committee, so if you are interested in participating, then please email Mr. Just at jjust@ccps.us soon.

Student of the Month - Gabriella Thibodeau

Gabriella Thibodeau is the September Student of the Month for Caroline High School. She was chosen by a panel of senior teachers, administrators, and counselors for her strong work ethic, school pride, and dedication. Gabbi was the Junior Class President last year and is currently serving as the Senior Class Communications Representative. She works hard both in and out of school as well as on the field. She is a member of both the soccer and cross country teams as well as the Student Council Association. Gabbi helped to bring awareness of childhood cancer by organizing the Gold Out game this past Friday night by teaming up with the Fairy Godmother Project. She plans on becoming a mental health therapist, a pharmacist, or a lawyer. Congratulations Gabbi and be sure to check out her display in the history hallway.

Back To School Night, CTE Open House, and Parent Teacher Conferences

Thursday, Sep. 19th, 1-6pm

This Thursday is a combination of Back to School Night, CTE Open House, and Parent-Teacher Conferences at Caroline High School. Teachers will be available for conferences by appointment from 1-6 pm.


The CTE Advisory Committee will meet from 2-3 pm followed by the CTE Open House from 3-6 pm.


CHS Administration will run a workshop discussing the following from 5-6 pm in the Library:



  • Parent Questions and Answer Session
  • Student Involvement & Leadership Opportunities
  • P.T.S.O Update

GO CAVS!

The JV Field Hockey team improved to 3-1 on the season. Varsity Field Hockey and JV Field Hockey & Varsity Volleyball all picked up wins this week as well. Sean Kenny had another strong performance in his cross country race at William & Mary on Saturday. He finished 10th out of approximately 100 runners in the race.

Supports for Mental Wellness

RACSB is conducting a presentation on mental wellness. The event is called “supports for mental wellness” and this event will occur on September 16, 2019 at 4:30 pm in the Madison Elementary Library. Please contact Susan Gayle if you have any questions at (804) 633-7083.

Tickets for the 2019 semi-formal Homecoming dance are now on sale!

This year’s dance theme is Under the Sea; join us as we dance the night away on the ocean floor from 7-10 PM on Saturday, October 5. Tickets are $15 each, and they may be purchased online using MySchoolBucks. Two tickets may be purchased provided the second ticket is for a current CHS student, a student in good standing at another high school, or a recent graduate (no older than 20). Non-CHS students must have a form completed and submitted to Mrs. Sadler no later than October 1. Don’t wait--get your tickets as soon as possible as we’ve sold out in years past! Questions?   • College Advising will host FAFSA Night on October 8th from 5:00-8:00 PM for senior students who would like to complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Completing the FAFSA will take around an hour. Please arrive by 7:00 PM to ensure completion by 8:00.   • The Career Coach, along with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, will be hosting an after school program focusing on your future job success.   • AP Students have all registered for their classes and are receiving resources through their teachers, and my college board. AP test payment is due November 15th, the $94 fee can be paid to Ms. Beasley in the front office through a check or cash. You can also use myschoolsbucks.com to pay for your exam. Any exam paid after Nov. 15th, will incur an additional $40 fee.

The New Teacher Spotlight - Mr. Samuel Perkins

Mr. Perkins is a Cavalier Alum who has returned this school year to teacher our Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 students at CHS.


"I feel so honored and humbled to be back here at Caroline High. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to come back to Caroline and make a difference and I’m so excited and grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn with some of the best educators that I know. It feels good to be home and I’m ecstatic to teach the next generation of students. GO CAVS!"
