President's Message
Greetings Brothers,
As we enter July, I hope that you and your families are doing well. I also hope that you have been able to get back to your Lodge and enjoy fellowship and receive more light at Lodge meetings.
We are still on for our 28 July 2020 MWSA Business Meeting to be held at Sugar Land Masonic Lodge No. 1141 at 6:30 PM. The address is 421 Eldridge Road, Sugar Land, TX 77478. There will not be a meal served at this meeting. This will be a very special meeting, and I hope that you will all be able to join us.
We will be having a presentation on Masonic youth groups, which are extremely important and do very good work for the youth of our society. After the presentation and business portion of our meeting, we will be joining Imperial Chapter, Order of DeMolay for their Stated Conclave. These young men have been working hard to get this new DeMolay Chapter up and running and are doing a great job of it.
As we are in the midst of Installation season, I hope that each and every one of you finds a way to be an active participant in your Lodge and in Masonry in general. If there’s a need, try to help fill it. If there’s a committee that needs help or a task that needs doing, try to help with it. Masonry, like any great organization, does not do well with just a few sets of hands trying to run it. It takes many hands to run this ship the best that it can be run.
If you haven’t attended a Lodge meeting in a while, please make an effort to attend your Lodge’s next Stated Meeting. If you know someone who hasn’t attended a Lodge meeting in a while, invite them to come with you. Offer to pick them up and drop them off at home if they need help with transportation. Our great Craft does it’s best work when we are all at labor, not just the officers of any given Lodge.
Lastly, to the incoming officers, please send us your calendar of events that you have scheduled already for your year, except Stated Meetings. We will work to keep everyone updated on all of the events happening around our District.
As always, if you would like some help on any of the ritual or floor work, reach out to our District Instructor, Past Master Cockroft, or any knowledgeable Brother in the work, for help. We are always here to improve ourselves and others in the Craft.
Fraternally,
David C. Berndt

Lodge Fundraisers
Winner of the Handmade Quilt
Due to the Covid19 concern, I was unable to travel as before to many of our lodges to sell raffle tickets. Since scholarships were coming quickly, the drawing was completed at the recent Morton Lodge Stated Meeting and Brother Jason Vance of Morton Lodge #72 was the winner of quilt.
The second raffle raised $250.00 and another $500.00 was donated.
The overall total from both raffles raised $1,550.00 for the Morton Lodge #72 Scholarship Fund.
Congratulations to Brother Vance!
Thank you to all who supported Morton Lodge #72.

Imperial Chapter, Order of DeMolay
Imperial Chapter, Order of DeMolay was set to work on Saturday 31 August 2019. DeMolay is a wonderful organization for young men from 12-21 years of age. It strives to teach virtues and help young men grow into responsible and committed members of society.
You can learn more about DeMolay here: http://www.texasdemolay.com/what-is-demolay/#
If you know anyone who may be interested in membership at Imperial Chapter, please have them contact David Berndt, Chapter Advisor at chapteradvisor@imperialdemolay.com.
Upcoming Degrees

Lodge Google Calendars
Please work to keep your Lodge's Google Calendar that is linked to the District #108 Google Calendar up-to-date. With everyone's calendar up-to-date, Brothers from other Lodges will be able to plan to attend more events and meetings around our District. This will take some work on the part of whoever controls the individual Lodge's Google Calendar, but it will be well worth the time investment.
Thank you!
