Mission Statement
Vision 2030
The letter provides an overall guide for the archdiocese for the next 12 years.
The pastoral letter will be followed by more specific plans every few years that will help create priorities for parishes, schools, clergy and laypeople in support of our mission. We will be holding listening sessions over the next several months to gather feedback and ideas to help craft these priorities. The sessions will be held in Guymon, Clinton, Enid, Lawton, Ardmore and Oklahoma City.
Click here to see a short video message from the Archbishop. Links to the pastoral letter are on the left side of that page, or you may click on images in this message to read and/or download the pastoral letter in English and Spanish. Printed booklets will be available soon.

Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences
Dear SJN Families,
It's almost time for Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences! We will have conferences on February 12th and 14th in the afternoon and early evening. We will have early dismissal on these days at 2:30 pm. This link will navigate you through the online sign-up options. The online sign-up form will close on February 6th. Please know that the spring conference is not required with the exception of Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 conferences. Please keep in mind that teachers may also require that a family schedule a conference if needed. In this instance, the teacher or school will contact the parent/guardian directly. Please note, you may only select one teacher at a time. You will have the opportunity to select another teacher and conference date/time option after submitting the form for each conference you are scheduling. You will also receive a confirmation email with the teacher and appointment time/date. If you have any questions or encounter issues with the form, please don't hesitate to reach out. Have a great Friday!
Sincerely,
Natalie Johnson, M.Ed.

Have you donated to the DONATION DRIVE Yet?
Gala & Donation Drive Update
Spring Gala 2019
We are very excited about this year’s Spring Gala Auction: A Night in Old Havana, but we can’t do it without YOU! Our goal is to raise a total of $150,000!!! As you know, our auction funds benefit three areas: 20% will be placed into our school endowment fund, campus technology will be funded and the remaining funds will benefit our campus improvement project. Our campus improvement project will feature a much needed upgrade our playground for both the school and parish. We hope to bring improvements in line with safety, comfort, and fun ways to provide respite for working minds! I am happy to share a preliminary design of our anticipated playground updates! This design will be on display in the school lobby beginning next week. Please give generously to our upcoming donation drive! This will ensure that we are able to raise enough money to meet our goal to fund scholarships, technology and provide a much needed playground upgrade!
We are hosting our final DONATION DRIVE! WE NEED YOUR HELP Our final drive coincides with Catholic Schools Week (January 27- February 2) and what a great time this will be to share the value a Catholic education provides to young people, its contributions to Church and our local communities.
- The donation drive will last four weeks resulting in ONE lucky class winning an Ice Cream Sundae Party and an extra recess! ***Please make sure those donation contacts have your child’s grade on them! ***
- Each family received an auction packet! This packet contained an auction contract, a flyer with donation ideas and a sponsorship form (click HERE for online sponsorship and ticket sales). There are contracts aplenty available in the school office so feel free to snag as many as you need or click HERE for a digital contract.
Lastly, at the request of many, we’ve decided to host another Trivia Night on Saturday, March 9th!! This is an adults-only night of friends, food, and fun! Tickets are $20/person or $35/couple!! Watch the SJN School Facebook page for a chance to win a pair of tickets!
Thank you all so much for helping to make our auction a great success! We still have lots of opportunities for Care and Share hours if you find yourself needing a few. And feel free to send us an email at sjnokauction@gmail.com if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Katie Hackett & Chrissy McDaniel

Helpful Information from the CDC on Flu Prevention
The single most effective way to prevent the flu is with immunization. CDC still recommends one taking the vaccine even now. There are additional ways to assist in not spreading the flu.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are
- Stay home when you are sick. If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. This will help prevent spreading your illness to others.
Cover your mouth and nose. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when
coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
Clean your hands. Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. If
soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be
physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

Commitment to a Safe Environment
The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City through its programs, organizations and events, has numerous daily contacts with many children and young people. It is, therefore, important that all Archdiocesan Personnel, clergy, seminarians, religious, employees and volunteers, protect the rights of children and be alert to the possibility for child abuse. Under Oklahoma State law, all individuals MUST report an incident or suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor (person under 18 years of age) to the civil authorities. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services has established a statewide abuse reporting hotline for reporting: 1-800-522-3511. This number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you feel a child is in immediate danger of harm call 911. For the safety of children and the healing of victims, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City provides an Abuse of Minors Pastoral Response Hotline for reporting the abuse of a minor (in the past or presently) by a member of the clergy or other church personnel: 1-405-720-9878. The Archdiocesan Victims Assistance Coordinator, a licensed professional counselor, will respond to calls to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Response Hotline. A report to the Archdiocese does not relieve the individual of the duty to report child abuse to civil authorities as required by Oklahoma State Law. In Oklahoma, failure to report child abuse is a misdemeanor punishable in law.
