Week 8: CHAMPS INFO, Last Practice and Awards/Pool Party!

Hi Tiger Shark Fam!


We are at the FINAL STRETCH! This last week is going to be a whirlwind, so stay up on your emails and Remind texts. Please make sure you are reading everything thoroughly especially about CHAMPS.


Highlights for this week: Lots of RSVP's on the website!!!

  1. Champs Info below! VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED URGENTLY! FYI: 11 and up will swim in the morning and 10 and unders swim in the afternoon!
  2. RSVP for the Awards Ceremony/Pool Party by July 19th at 9pm
  3. Nominations for 2024 Board Members by July 18th on this Google Form! Voting will taking place anonymously at our Awards Ceremony.
  4. Get $50 off your 2024 Swimmer Registration. Details Below!
  5. Check the Lost and Found this week. After our awards ceremony, all items will go in the Pool's Lost and Found.

Champs Info - Arrival TIMES BELOW!

The Dresden Swim Center 1330 Main St. Dresden, Ohio 43821 on TUESDAY July 20th. (Parking map and Team Camp are linked below. New for 2023 is a gate located between the shelter and The Hangout Concession stand.)


Ages 11 and up: Arrival 6:15-6:20am, Be at Warm Ups by 6:45am, Meet starts at 7:45am

Ages 10 and under: Arrival 1:55pm, Be at Warm Ups by 2:25pm, Meets starts at 3:00pm


Volunteers NEEDED:

  1. Timers: 6 timers per session (3 per half) - Both Sessions
  2. Officials: All Officials please volunteer during your kids' session. There will be lots of breaks!
  3. Bullpen: 4 per 10 and under session (2 per half)


FULL CONCESSIONS will be available onsite at The Hangout (cash and card accepted) (the pool's concession stand)!
  • Special Meet Menu items include:
    • The Hangout (Pool Concessions): serves Egg/Sausage/Hash Brown “Crunch Wraps, donuts, pulled pork, pizza, grilled cheese, hot ham and cheese, loaded nachos, chili dog, hot dog, chicken fries, taco in a bag, nachos, chili fries, mac n cheese bites, ice cream treats, pop, Gatorade, chocolate milk, candy, watermelon, soft pretzels, pickles, frozen cookie dough, applesauce, and other snacks/chips/junk food
    • Kona Ice (Food Truck): shaved ice
    • Gator Kitchen (Food Truck): alligator bites, fish bites, bacon/cheddar/chive tater kegs, Amish fry pies
    • Bigfoot (Food Truck): half-pound footlong hamburgers, Amish noodles in bread bowls, watermelon pizza, ice cream, and root beer floats
    • Kingdom Coffee (Food Truck): coffee and iced drinks
    • Dari Twist (located at 1340 Main St, in front of pool): salads, sandwiches, burgers, ice cream
  • The Hangout is air-conditioned for those who want to eat in! Additional restrooms are also available inside The Hangout.


Championship Meet Apparel

  • Fine Designs Imprinted Sportswear will be on site throughout the meet. They offer custom apparel and will have a variety of options that are printed to order on-site. You get to choose the shirt, choose your size, and choose your final design. Fine Designs will be set up near the storage and pump room.


Restrooms/Locker Rooms

  • Locker rooms are available for all participants. There are restrooms for spectators to use inside The Hangout. Additional portable restrooms will be available near the playground.


Pool Rules

  • Please note TCAL Members and their spectators are guests of the Dresden Swim Center and are required to follow all facility and pool rules. The pool is closed with the exception of the competition pool and diving well (AM session Only). New in 2023 participants may cool off in the wading pool, please note the Dresden Swim Center can close the wading pool at anytime including if it is overcrowded or behavior becomes an issue. Participants must follow all instructions given by the TCAL Volunteer Deck Marshal.

FACILITY SAFETY RULES
  • Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping devices, and any other illegal substances are not permitted.
  • Firearms and any other weapons are not permitted.
  • All bags and coolers are subject to search upon entry.
  • Persons under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance will be denied admission or asked to leave. •Glass items of any kind are not permitted.
  • Animals are prohibited.
  • Foul, threatening, or abusive language is not permitted and will not be tolerated.
  • Proper swim attire is required. Swimsuits must have linings, diaper-dependent guests must wear swim diapers, and thong swimsuits are not permitted.
  • Public displays of affection (PDA) are not permitted.
  • Proper behavior is expected in the locker rooms and restrooms. Running and horseplay is not permitted.
  • Cell phone or camera use (photography) is prohibited in the restrooms and locker rooms.
  • Anyone found defacing or damaging the facility or facility property, including the locker rooms, will be held financially responsible for damages, and asked to leave.
  • Lobby restrooms are not to be used as changing rooms. Please use the locker rooms instead.
  • Patrons must clean up all trash and belongings prior to exiting the facility.

POOL SAFETY RULES
  • Any person with an obvious infectious wound or experiencing diarrhea or vomiting is not permitted to enter the water.
  • No running on the pool deck.
  • No horseplay in the water or on the pool deck.
  • Diving is permitted only in areas of the pool where the depth is 6 feet or greater.
  • Back dives, back flips, and front flips are not permitted from the side of the pool.
  • Hard objects are not permitted to be thrown in the pool or on the deck.
  • Swimmers are not permitted to tamper with, hang on, stand on, lift, or adjust lane ropes.
  • Starting blocks are only for use during coach-supervised swim team practices and/or meets.
  • The pool and pool deck will be cleared due to lightning in the area for at least 30 minutes or until storm has passed. All guests of the facility must take shelter immediately

Practice Schedule and Events: July 16-21

Monday: Regular Practice

11 and up: 7:00am -8:00am

10 and under: 7:50am - 8:50am


Monday July 17th: Last Practice and Donuts for Breakfast!

Tuesday July 18th: CHAMPS at Dresden

Friday July 21st: Awards Night/Pool Party

End of the Season Awards Ceremony/Pool Party (July 21st: 8-10pm)

Join the Tiger Sharks for our end of the season Awards Ceremony and Pool Party. We will have a short awards ceremony followed by snack, drinks and desserts at the pool.


Remember this event is only for swimmers and their immediate family members. Feel free to bring your own chairs. We will be on the lawn this year for the Awards portion of the night.

  • Last Names: N-Z Please bring drinks (bottled water, juice boxes, canned soda - no 2-liters, ...)
