PreK & Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch
Thank you to the PTO for creating our very own pumpkin patch!

2nd Grade Pumpkin Math
Students worked in teams to do ”Pumpkin Math” with a parent volunteer. They made predictions about their pumpkin’s weight, height, circumference, number of seeds, and number of seams. Then, students worked together to find the actual numbers! After all of the math teamwork, students drew a face on their pumpkin. The parent volunteers carved the pumpkins into Jack-o-Lanterns! Look for our pumpkins outside, in front of the school!

MTPD Halloween Safety Visit
Thank you to Mendham Twp. Police for spending the morning at MTES to discuss Halloween safety and for providing every student with a fun goody bag!
Feathers for Food!
Food Drive 10/25-11/15/2023
What to do: Two ways to earn feathers:
- Make a donation at http://www.wmjwc.org/food-drive. Please specify teacher’s name, so your child’s class receives credit for the donation. Classes will receive one feather for every $10 donated, a bonus feather for donations of $50 or more, & another bonus feather for $100 donations.
- Bring in food items assigned to your child’s class - please send in these items with your children.
When: Donations accepted from Wednesday, October 25th – Wednesday, November 15th at 4pm sharp
Friendly competition: The class with the most feathers at 4pm on 11/15 wins the Turkey Cup, and an individual medal for each student in the winning class! Second & third place classes will also win trophies

The West Morris Juniors’ Thanksgiving Food Drive is off to a great start - thank you so much for all the generous donations so far!

Important Reminders!
- If you are picking up your child early between 3:10-3:20 in the front of the building, you need to park in a space because the buses need to pull in and park along the sidewalk.
- No passing the parked buses in your car when they are unloading & loading.
- For any bus issues, please call transportation directly at (973) 543-2505

Dismissal Plans MUST be entered into Pick Up Patrol for each student.

- Plan changes need to be submitted before 2pm. Do not call the office unless it is an emergency.

We want to emphasize that Mendham High School Cheerleading is solely responsible for this initiative, and MTES is not affiliated with the planning, execution, or supervision of this event.
Please direct any questions or concerns about this fundraiser to Mendham High School Cheerleading, as MTES staff and administration will not be involved in its management.
Registration for Mendham Basketball is now open to kids in Mendham from PreK4 - 8th grade. There are different levels of play for both boys and girls, including competitive travel with tryouts (4th-8th), rec (5th-8th), transition (3rd-4th), and clinic (PreK4-2nd). Vanessa Veleber, is currently a senior at West Morris Mendham High School. For her IB service learning project, she is holding a children's crafting event for kids ages 3 and up. Join the fun!
