Walk to School Day
~ Still need some parent volunteers for this event! Sign up HERE! ~
International Walk to School Day is an annual event promoting heathy kids, a healthy environment and year-round safe routes to school.
Ways to participate:
- Walk to school from home
- Meet in the S-Mart/Terry's Kitchen parking lot and walk to school from there.
- For our bus riders and drop off line kids, we invite you to join us and "Walk the Last Yard"
Watch for pop in visits from "PedBee the Safety Bee" and our very own Newport Heights Dolphin.
Prize bag will be handed out to all students.
Now the fine print: The walk from S-Mart/Terry's Kitchen is not a supervised event. Parents are responsible for their children during that walk.

Volunteer Spotlight
Our September Spotlight volunteer is Stephanie Ho. Stephanie is a first year NHE parent and even being new to our community she dove into volunteering head first. She has signed up to help with every single event and responded to every request for help we've had this year.
From donating sandwich bread to our staff back to school lunches, to handing out popsicles, to shepherding students to hearing screenings and signing up to be a Classroom Liaison - this Rock Star Volunteer has done it all.
So we want to take a moment and say: "Stephanie Ho, we appreciate you and everything you do!"
