Nominations For The 2020 Range Finding Committee For Grade Five Writing Local Alternative Performance Assessments
The committee meeting will be held in Charlottesville, Virginia, on April 21-22. The range-finding committee will review student work samples and recommend exemplars which demonstrate student performance at each score point of the rubric used to score student work. These exemplars will be used by teachers when scoring performance assessments based on the 2017 English Standards of Learning.
Approximately eight to 10 teachers will be selected to serve on the range-finding committee, and school divisions are encouraged to nominate one or more representatives to participate in this work. Attached is the supporting documentation for the criteria and expectations.
Completed applications are due to the Virginia Department of Education by Friday, Feb. 14. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Colucci via email at Danielle.Colucci@vbschools.com. Thank you.
