  • September 2nd: Labor Day, NO CLASSES
  • September 4th: Last day to drop/add classes
  • September 5th: Last Day to Receive a 100% refund
  • September 6th: $100 late add fee begins
  • September 6th: Last Day to Receive a 90% refund for complete withdrawal
  • September 6th: Begin recording withdrawals with
    a final grade of "W" on the transcript
  • September 11th: Last day to receive a 50% refund for a partial withdrawal
  • September 23rd: Last day to receive a 50% refund for a complete withdrawal

IMPORTANT EVENTS

Priority Registration

To receive Priority Registration for Spring 2020, the following must be completed by October 15, 2019.

NO EXCEPTIONS!


Priority Registration Begins October 22nd at 8 am.


1. The following assessments must be completed, results submitted and reviewed with a TRIO FESP Staff Member.


The assessments are below (IF YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED THE ASSESSMENTS IN THE PAST, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THEM AGAIN!)





2. Complete an academic advising appointment and Fall 2019 Individual Student Development Plan (ISDP) with a TRIO FESP advisor during Fall 2019-Before October 15, 2019.


3. Attend the TRIO FESP Welcome Back Bash. Please see attached for additional information OR complete TWO online modules, listed below.


If you prefer to do an online module, you will need to pick two of the following, complete, and submit an evaluation about what you learned from the module to the TRIO FESP office. If you cannot open the link by clicking it, copy and paste the link in the URL.


WELCOME NEW PARTICIPANTS

BECOMING A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER IN MICHIGAN

Requirements for a Substitute Permit


  • At least 60 semester hours of college credit
  • 2.0 GPA
  • At one 4 year, regionally accredited institution
  • Apply through edustaff


Requirements for a Full Year Permit


  • This permit authorizes you to teach in the same classroom in a long-term substitute position, for more than 90 days per school year
  • It is valid for one school year, until Aug. 31
  • It may be renewed twice, for a maximum of three school years, if:
    • You complete six semester hours of college credit towards certification each school year
    • You have been assigned a mentor teacher
    • You pass the appropriate MTTC test within three years of employment under this permit
  • Within three years, you must become fully certified as a teacher to continue teaching in the same assignment

NEW LAB HOURS/TUTORING HOURS

Starting September -- we will be open for lab/lounge usage only for the following times:


Monday and Wednesday until 6pm

Tuesday and Thursday until 7pm

Friday until 5pm
