Coronavirus Information

Last Sunday information was shared with families and staff, via email, on the topic of the coronavirus. We continue to work closely with our public health officials, and are monitoring updates from the Oregon Health Authority. Dual Language Immersion

The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce a Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion Program, starting with Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, at Hawks View Elementary (currently Hopkins). A Dual Language Immersion Program has the goal of promoting bilingualism, bi-literacy, and socio-cultural competence. Applications are now open; deadline to apply is April 3, 2020. Boundary Adjustment: 4th Grade Student Exception

Last Friday, notification letters were mailed to families impacted by the adjusted elementary boundaries, taking effect in the 2020-21 school year. The Sherwood School District Board of Directors have approved an exception for current 4th grade students; these students will have the opportunity to remain at their current elementary school as 5th graders in the 2020-21 school year. Families of current 4th grade students received additional information about this exception with their notification letter.


As a reminder, an application is required for families who wish to have their 4th grade student remain at their current elementary school as a 5th grader for the 2020-21 school year. Applications are due by Tuesday, March 10, 2020. To complete this application, please visit: https://bit.ly/grade4transfer Please note that this exception does not apply to younger siblings, and District transportation will not be provided to students who remain at their current school under this exception.

Construction at Sherwood Middle School

Construction is set to begin at Sherwood Middle School over Spring Break (March 23-27). Following Spring Break, construction will continue in designated portions of the building, 3:30-11:30pm each day. Construction on all other Transformations projects will not begin until after school is out on June 11.
