Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 14th July 2017
Captivating Creatures
Our early years' children followed up a flying visit from owls last week with a creepy crawly experience on Monday when they were visited by a tarantula, snake and lizard! Can anyone help with the name of the furry rodent?!
We will be welcoming Mr Stocks and his owls back in the first week of the holidays when he visits on Wednesday to give all our Oscar's holiday club children the opportunity to be owl handlers. Also on this day, the exotic creatures will be making a return.
Please be sure to send back the Oscar's holiday booking form to confirm your place!
Debating Competition
Our thanks to Mr Roe, and also to one of our dedicated volunteers, Mrs Kidd, who accompanied the children and took on the unenviable role of judging the debates.
Hackfall Woods
The Stage is set for a wonderland performance.
All of the children have been rehearsing this week ready for their performance of Wonderland, they are looking forward to sharing all of their hard work.
Tickets are sold out and we would like to say a special thank you to those families who have been very understanding over the allocation of tickets. The children can only perform so many times and for health and safety reasons we can only fit so many chairs in the hall. Mrs Bingham has worked especially hard to try and allocate tickets fairly. We do have a waiting list for tickets so if, for any reason, you can't attend the performance please let the office know so we can reallocate your seat.
Arrangements for next week:
Tuesday evening - Children are to be brought to their classrooms at 6pm, no earlier please. The doors open for the performance at 6pm. The show will start at 6.30. The children will need collecting from their classrooms at 8.15pm, which is current predicted finish time.
Wednesday afternoon: This is the afternoon of the matinee performance. We ask if parents can be understanding that the children may not be ready to go home at 3.15pm should the show overrun.
Wednesday evening: Arrangements are the same as for Tuesday evening.
Clockwork Precision
Over the last half term, Year 6 have been visiting Ripon Grammar School for a design and technology project. They have designed and made clocks using laser cutting as well as traditional wood work techniques. They have produced some super clocks.

Class of 2017
The parents of the class also organised a wonderful leaving party for the children on Thursday evening. We're going to miss them all, but we're sure they're all ready for their next big adventure!

Please join us - it's been a fantastic year and it would be lovely to celebrate it with you over a coffee! You've been brilliant helping us to raise a fantastic amount of funds that will go a long way to pay for the mile-a-day track and to support the school. Grand total to be revealed next week!
