The Ring Network

The ring network works by having a circle of computers all attached to each other. It actually looks like a ring you would wear on your finger.


It is very reliable and can send data quickly. There will also be no data collisions as the data only travels in one direction.


If one of the computers disconnects then the whole system will crash. It will also crash if one device is faulty.

If data is sent from one computer to another, it will travel along a wire to the next device. If one device is not attached to the wire, then it will not be able to send it to that device. But it will however, be able to send it to the other computers because they would be attached. Here is a diagram to help you understand......
