A Little Bit About Mr. Meyer
I grew up in the town of Woodstock, IL, and graduated in 2015 from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, with a degree in Instrumental Music Education. As a trombonist in the St. Olaf Band, I toured the United States as well as Spain, France, and Italy. I also performed with the St. Olaf Jazz Ensemble, Philharmonia Orchestra, the St. Olaf Trombone Choir, the Cantorei Choir, and founded the O-Tones, a choir of cross country runners. In addition to my musical pursuits, I ran on the St. Olaf men's cross country and track & field teams and won a cross country team National Championship in 2013.
Before arriving in Lisle, I taught 5th and 6th grade band in Thornton, Colorado as well as 5th grade band and K-5 general music in Shakopee, Minnesota. Outside of teaching, I continue to enjoy distance running as well as hiking, Chipotle burritos, baking and cooking, Catch Phrase, and discovering the best ice cream parlors wherever I go!
