Principal's Corner
Dear BFPP Families,
Anniversaries can be celebrations, as well as demarcations of loss or change. Today is the 2 year anniversary of the first reported case of COVID-19 in Whatcom County, and in fact the United States. So much has happened in the last two years as a result. And while I could focus on the many things lost, including loved ones, I tend to prefer embracing now and dwelling in the possibilities of moving forward. That can be spurred by reflecting what I am grateful for. Please, consider taking a moment to talk with each other about the last two years and then focus on the present and possibilities by making a list of all the things you are grateful for, I can promise you will feel better after!
Thankful for my BFPP family,
-Dr. K

Laptop Maintenance
To keep your school laptop running smoothly:
- Plug In Laptops on Friday Nights: To get the update to your Windows platform, leave laptops plugged in overnight on Fridays. This helps limit those pesky messages that sometimes pop up saying that the computer is going to restart in # minutes right when you are in the middle of something.
- Clear the Cache: As students use programs such as Edgenuity, Seesaw, Dreambox, Lexia and others, the browser’s cache gets filled with cookies, history, and memory. This can cause little glitches at times in the programs. So, every few weeks it is a good idea to clear the cache. Please use the link below to watch a quick video to clear the cache in Chrome (it works the same in other web browsers): Clear the Cache
Children’s Co-Op Preschool Returns
Hello BFPP families! You may have noticed some younger friends around Larrabee school recently. We are happy to announce the return of our preschool classes to the indoor setting, starting this month. Our preschoolers have had a wonderful time moving back into our indoor classroom and they are excited to be your neighbors! While we love to wave hello from a safe distance, many of our students are too young to be vaccinated. We are working hard to follow social distancing guidelines and appreciate your help in keeping them safe.
As some may know Children's Co-op Preschool (CCP) has operated for over 40 years, but over the past 18 months we switched our regular curriculum to an outdoor setting to accommodate safety concerns during the pandemic. We now feel like we have assessed the risk factors and will be able to mitigate them in an efficient and equitable manner. Hooray!
What this means:
CCP will have use of the gym or designated outdoor space from 8:45- 9:45 am.
Our classroom is for our students only at this time.
The hallway must be cleared and open so our students can transition safety to and from outdoors or the restroom.
We thank you so much for your understanding and flexibility! It has been a challenging time for everyone and we look forward to getting back a new normal and being a part of the Larrabee school community.
All the best,
The CCP Board and Teachers
