Business Meeting

PHS Driver's Education teacher Debra Andreoli was recognized for spearheading the Celebrate My Drive campaign to the District. PHS was recognized for being in the top 100 schools in the nation for safe driving pledges, culminating with a $25,000 national grant from State Farm insurance. With upwards of 1,000 drivers at PHS, this campaign was important on many levels as it reinforced our community's commitment to safe driving practices. Ms. Andreoli spoke about the campaign as being a wonderful, whole school effort. One of the biggest things that they will be doing with the grant will be to bring in the PA DUI Safety Bug to the school this April. They will be raffling off driving positions. Chris Heron from ESPN will be doing a motivational school-wide assembly, 16 iPad will be purchased for classroom use, and paint and supplies will be purchased to personalize PHS hallways with motivational quotes. Ms. Andreoli is pictured above holding her certificate of achievement.

The Board of School Directors adopted a Resolution pursuant to Section 311(d) (1) of Act 1 of 2006 certifying that the Board will not increase any School District tax for fiscal year July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 at a rate that exceeds the School District’s index of 1.9% as calculated by the Department of Education for 2015-16.
