The San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons - Opportunity for Girls in Grades 6th-12
What is it? The San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons (SJEYH) is an annual conference specially designed for 6th through 12th grade girls to encourage them to consider education and career options in science and mathematics. About 550 girls from the San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties attend. Girls from other school districts may also register. The EYH Student Packet provides lots of information about EYH, attending an EYH workshop, and careers in science and math.
How to register? Registration for EYH virtual event is open online and due October 11! Please do not wait, as they are ordering supplies and tshirts. https://www.sjeyh.org/ , the fee is $10.
Important Dates? Please note the dates, and ensure that the student is free at these times, and has the means to access Zoom:
Saturday, October 23: Drive-thru pickup of t-shirt, giveaways, materials and supplies for workshops, at University of the Pacific
Saturday, October 30: Virtual workshops via Zoom, using the materials/supplies we distributed.

Grades 4-8 - Virtual Opportunity to Support Mindfulness
When? Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 - 9:30 for students in grades 4-8
What? Every Wednesday and Thursday, Vista Oaks offers a virtual opportunity to build mindfulness for our students in grades 4-8. The times are led by Janay and Alisa, our amazing school psychologist interns. Our social emotional sessions are a great opportunity to learn about topics such as mindfulness and coping skills. However, please note these are not private counseling sessions, and confidentiality can not be guaranteed due to the virtual nature of sessions.
