Principal's Message
May 27, 2022
Dear NFM@Crawford Families,
Here we are on the last day of the school year. As I reflect back on the year, I want to personally thank all of you for your commitment to our school. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and working with your children. My first year as the principal has been the most rewarding experience in my 25 years as an educator. I’m very grateful for the commitment of our school community and our outstanding staff!
Have wonderful summer,
Ms. Denise

Montessori Moment
Do not tell them how to do it. Show them how to do it and do not say a word. If you tell them they will watch your lips move. If you show them they will want to do it themselves.
Maria Montessori
Especially with young children when they need to observe our movements we must silence our voice to focus their attention on our actions. If we are talking they will watch our faces for they are still sensitive to language and how it is formed. With older children it sometimes helps to talk through the steps and verbalize what we are thinking internally. But other times our silent actions will draw even more attention.
This week try talking and showing or showing without speaking and see if it changes your children’s engagement.
