Recognizing Excellent Behavior
Students who made excellent behavioral choices visited the ARC. The students next opportunity will be in February.

Students researched and gain knowledge on topics ranging from the Titanic and Atomic Bombs to Diseases and Illnesses.

Students worked in groups with students who have selected the same topic to pool and share their newly gained knowledge.
NIKE Math Ticket Out!
Students that worked hard in math and completed IXL & Khan Academy with 80% or higher, met on the majority of their exit tickets throughout the week and completed their homework received stickers each week. Once they finished their sticker chart of 35 stickers they made it to their incentive of the NIKE Math Ticket out. They enjoyed 2 hours of doing team builders, volleyball, basketball, and even dodge ball. Trimester 2 ends at the beginning of February hopefully your child will be a part of the Math Ticket OUT!
Informational Writing
We have been very busy with our informational writing unit. Studying topics such as bullying, child labor, girls education, animal abandonment, and the environment has really give students a chance to see that there are many thing that they can do as a teen activist to help with these important issues. Ask your child to share with you what their topic is and how they feel about it.
Rocket Launch!
Students in 6S enjoyed experimenting with controls and variables when creating both a vertical and horizontal rocket launch. The weather was a little cold, but it didn't keep us away from sending our Geology on Mars unit out with a Bang!
