And why did they invent money?
The Lydians were people living in Lydia, a part of Western Antolia.
They lived from 680 B.C. to 546 B.C. and were the first to use gold and silver coins as money.
Before and After
-Before the Lydians had developed money, they mainly traded one thing for another.
-Afterwards, everyone just bought their goods with coins.
-Because of this, more nations began using gold as currency
Why Invent Money?
-The barter system was limited
-It was a lot easier to trade with money-People didn't have to barter for their goods, they paid in coins for how much each item was worth
