60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
Did you know that students have the opportunity to work with ‘green screen’ technology at Strongsville Middle School? Green screens allow different backgrounds to be placed in video applications, such as SMS Morning Announcements. Thanks to Mr. Miltner and Mr. Port, the students on the morning announcement crew at SMS are utilizing this technology in fun and creative ways. Click HERE to see how the SMS morning announcement crew puts together their daily messages, incorporating this green screen technology.

ONLINE SCHOOL FORMS - UPDATING YOUR STUDENT’S INFORMATION
Please make sure you have updated your student’s information online. This process replaces the paper forms (Emergency Contacts, Medical Forms, etc.) sent home at the beginning of each school year. Even if there are no changes, you must still log in and confirm the information. Use the PowerSchool Parent Portal (PASS) to access the online information update form. The deadline to complete this task was September 8, 2017.
The Information Update form must be completed prior to your child receiving report cards, transcripts, parking permits, participation in extracurricular activities, attending dances, and field trips, as well as participation in commencement activities.
Click HERE for instructions on how to get started and answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. KIM STRADTMAN, BUS DRIVER & MONITOR
Mrs. Kim Stradtman has been a bus driver in our District since 2008. It started as a job that allowed her to work for a few hours during the day, as well as be at home with her son. Family comes first for Mrs. Stradtman and the students she drives to and from school each day are now part of her extended family. Before moving back to the city she grew up in, Middleburg Heights, Mrs. Stradtman raised her son in Strongsville. He was a student at both Surrarrer Elementary and Center Middle School. She will always be a “Surrarrer Mom” and partial to that school, which led her to another job in our District as a monitor at Surrarrer. She juggles those two District jobs with another part time job managing concourse advertising at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
Mrs Stradtman says, “I love working with kids. And they become ‘your’ kids. I tell the parents that I treat all of the kids riding my bus as if they are my own. It’s a ton of responsibility, but that’s what makes me want to do this job, and do it well.” She adds, “I’ve driven the same route for four years and this allows me to really get to know them. I look forward to seeing my students daily, and also look forward to seeing them grow and develop from year to year.”
Mrs. Stradtman also volunteers as a member of the Transportation Department for District events such as Greet & Treat and Fill the Bus. “There are not too many people that have the opportunity to have multiple jobs they love. I am fortunate to have three that I truly love.”
Thank you Mrs. Stradtman for taking great care of our students as they get to and from school each day and being a special part of their growth and development in our District.
SHS CLASS OF 1992 RETURNS FOR 25TH REUNION
Strongsville High School’s Class of 1992 recently held their 25th reunion. Included in the celebration was a tour of SHS, which has undergone several transformations since their class roamed the halls of the school. Alumni were amazed and impressed with the 700/800 classroom wing, the brand new Media Center (and Mustang Cafe), auxiliary gyms, and the upgraded classrooms. Members of the Class of 2018 helped conduct the tour, connecting generations of Mustangs alumni! #foreveramustang
