A public hearing is scheduled on October 28 from 6:00-6:30 pm in room 810 at the Richard Mann Elementary School.

Attending Gananda Athletic Events

We are excited for our students to be able to participate in fall sports, however, as with most things during our current COVID-19 era, it looks a little different.
1. All practices and games will be closed to the general public.
2. Each athlete is allowed two spectators on-site during the game; these spectators will be assigned by the parents of the player in advance. Walk-in spectators will not be allowed to enter. This will be strictly enforced.
We will be live-streaming the JV and Varsity soccer games through https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/#.
Learn more about the current guidelines on our website by visiting the COVID-19 Spectator Guidelines for Fall 2020.

Reminder: COVID-19 Weekly Health Screening Form

Gananda Central School District is required to have a COVID-19 Health Screening Form completed for each student per New York State Department of Health. At this time, we only require this form to be completed once per week. The Covid-19 Health Screening Form will be available to complete beginning at 7pm each Sunday evening on ParentSquare. Please complete this form by 10am each Monday. This only pertains to our students attending classes in person during the week.

Reminder: Attendance on Remote Days

Students need to log into Schoology every morning they are remote learning for attendance purposes - whether they have classwork or not. This must be done on a school-issued Chromebook.

Remote Learning Material Pick-Up Thursdays

We will be designating Thursdays from 4-5pm as the Remote Material Pick Up Day for all remote students (K-12). Material pick-up will be held in the front parking lot of Ruben A. Cirillo High School. Teachers will be communicating with you or your student directly each week if there are items that need to be picked up.

Welcome to our New Staff!

Ms. Fox

Ms. Fox is a new math teacher at the high school. She enjoys springboard diving and her favorite food is pizza. If she could have a superpower it would be to fly. Fall, because of all the color change in the leaves. Welcome to Gananda Ms. Fox!

Ms. Kersten

We welcome Ms. Kersten as a secretary at the elementary school. Her favorite hobby is music. She plays the fife in Towpath Volunteers fife and Drum Corp. Her favorite food is chocolate. If she could have a superpower she would choose Telekinesis. She said, "I could get a lot more done at home, like cleaning just by thinking about it." Her favorite season is summer and she likes the saying, "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."

Mrs. Testa

Mrs. Testa has joined the middle school staff as a 7th-grade science teacher. She said, My favorite hobby/activity is hula hooping! I do both exercise & dance hooping (I even went to a Hoop Camp for a full week last summer!) Her favorite season is spring. "Seeing the first bits of green after a long winter makes me so happy! And I love the bright green color of new leaves.
