Valley Southwoods Families,
As we continue to prepare for the 2020-21 school year, we are reminded everyday that this school year will look different than previous years; however, district level leaders, building level administration, and teachers are working diligently to put supports and strategies in place for students and families whether we are able to meet face to face on the first day of school or will be serving your student in an online learning environment.
With the ability of families to make a learning choice we have had to make adjustments to our Tiger Launch dates in order to make sure your student’s schedules are accurate. We pushed the tour dates back to the week of August 17. More information will be below.
At Valley Southwoods we have adjusted our first day of school focusing on students receiving their new Chromebooks, meeting their advisor for the year, taking school pictures and getting their school IDs. You really do not have to come to school before that day to be prepared. We don’t have specific school supplies that students need so on the first day have a backpack, something to write with, and maybe a few notebooks. To start the year students will not be using their lockers. We are doing this to eliminate a touch point for students which means they can have their backpacks throughout the day.
Our Fall sports will be starting the week of August 10, 2020. Please make sure if your student is participating in a Fall sport that you register your athlete through Family ID. (Review instructions.)
We are excited for your student to start their high school career and are always available to support you when questions come up. Go Tigers!
