GCISD Learning Letter
Winter 2019
As I was reminded recently by Jaime Casap, Google's Chief Educational Evangelist (yes, that's really his job title!), we are a good ways into the 21st century, and it might be time to start taking inventory on progress toward incorporating these skills into students' lives. In GCISD I believe our Portrait of Graduate has helped us along the path, but in looking around our classrooms and our curriculum documents, I still feel progress can be made.
As you begin the last year in this decade, I'd encourage you (and your students - great student voice opportunity) to consider where we are and how we can continue working on creativity, innovation, communication, collaboration, research, and digital citizenship.
Hoping your 2019 is a great one!

Student Voice - Updates
During the month of February, all GCISD students will receive a survey link to let us know their perceptions about how their voices are heard at school. The surveys will look like this:
Primary survey options: (grades: K-1)
- Online survey
- Students draw a picture to share with their teachers answering the same questions as were found on the online survey.
Intermediate survey (grades: 2-5)
Secondary survey (grades: 6-12)
