Sonnets from the Portuguese 43

By Donte Mario Love

Here go the poem by Elizabeth Browning

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men might strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,–I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!–and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Main idea of "How do I love thee?"

We'll overall the mail idea is exactly that, how do she love her lover. She like ask herself a question and then she answer it with some deep stuff. She state in different ways that her love is eternal external, and even after she is dead. Overall she loves this guy a lot.

why Donte? Why?

What my reasoning behind me picking "how do I love thee?"? Was probably just because I'm a sucker for a good romance. I found the poem sweet and very thoughtful, along with a good sense of that Romeo and Juliet feeling in there. And everyone loves Romeo and Juliet.

Song Connection

The song I chose is Matt Bennett - I think you're swell

Because Elizabeth is talking about how she love him, and in this song he talking about how she basically completes him, how he love her, etc.

I think you're swell

I think you're swell

I think you're swell

I think you're swell

You're the nugget in my ChickenMc

The peanuts in my butter

Adding fiber to our diets

Beneficial for each other

You're a piece of dental floss and I am the teeth

You're Aretha Franklin, I'm r-e-s-p-e-c-t

You're baby giraffe and I'm and a safety ranger

You're the father and ghost, I'm baby Jesus in the manger

Our love spans 40 acres, filled with apple trees

You're Thanksgiving, I'm the turkey

You're Akeelah, I'm the bee

You're a guitar, I'm the strings like a Jet ski in the water

You're New York, I'm the buildings

You're my mother, I'm your father

And I think you're swell.

I think you're swell

I think you're swell.

If you're Bobby I'll be Whitney

If you're Method I'll be Redman

If you're Carrie I'm Samantha

If you're Oprah I'll be Stedman.

If you're Leia I'm Han Solo

If you're Warbuks I'll be Annie

If you're puff the magic dragon I'll be Peter, Paul, and Mary.

I love you like a Cops marathon on TV,

I love you more than the original star wars trilogy

I am the walrus, you are the goo goo gajoo

I'm a whole lot of nothing, you are the much ado

When I say I'm in love it's more than any love has meant

And if we ever go jogging I'll be your antiperspirant

And I think you're swell.

I think you're swell

I think you're swell

And everyday when you're walking down the street

Is like every other day because you're constantly walking down the street

And everyday I'm only thinking about you

And a bunch of other important things, but primarily you

And that's true

'Cause I think you're swell

I think you're swell

i call this poem "Why do i love thee"

wow, how can i explain thee ?

she is the type to push little kids off a bus

she the type to never accept the things that she see

she is the type to start a big fus

laughing at people who fall

never really to know that she dont have it all

she the type to never say sorry

she the type youll have to google on safari

she is always mad and mean

she the girl everyone is for holloween

she is beautiful, and everything inbetween

if you call her evil, you wouldnt be wrong

but i love her, i guess she just makes be belong.
