Shine Bright

Style Your Own Life

Thank you for being a fan of Stella & Dot! This summer has flown by and it already feels like fall some days here in the Midwest. July was full of traveling to Kansas City to see family and Orlando for Stella & Dot's national conference and fall launch. This was my first time attending national conference, Hoopla, and it was AH-MAY-ZING!

I loved the positive energy, fashion, new friends, cocktails, business lessons, and the new collections. I met new friends from the Dallas area and connected with friends from Grand Rapids, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Tampa. The swag bags were fabulous including Luna bars, May Designs notebooks, and jewelry from the new collections. We also sampled cocktails from Smirnoff with their Light Sorbet brand. My favorite is Strawbasil cocktail!

The new line: I am in love!!! It has several distinct collections featuring Art Pop (bright colors), Modern Muse (soft pastels and rose gold), Style Icon (navy, red, and gold), and our Unique Boutique (pave and charms). I knew that several items would be very hot so I ordered the pave chevron ring and bracelet immediately after the fashion show along with the mink metallic tote and chevron clutch.

We heard Christy Turlington speak about her organization Every Mother Counts. Stella & Dot is partnering with Every Mother Counts to improve maternal healthcare through the proceeds of the Enlighten bracelet. The response has been so overwhelming that we have sold over 15,000 in 2 weeks!! We are now accepting back orders up to August 7th with a delayed delivery.

The last thing that I want to share with you is how moved I was by the culture that is promoted within the Stella & Dot stylist community. There were beautiful women from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe who attended the conference. It was amazing to watch the individual styles but also the way everyone shared their struggles and successes to help others learn. It was a true team effort! Plus several women who had young infants brought them on stage with them as they accepted awards. That is what defines success for me: creating your own balance doing what you love with who you love.

How do you define success? I would love to have you join me in Vegas next year!

Wishing you much success!

xo, Melissa

"To give every woman the means to style her own life!"

Glam Getaway: Dominican Republic

Start Date: May 2012

About Me: Client Service Supervisor for a Fortune 25 company, Chief Encouragement Officer to loved ones, avid football fan, literacy advocate, and creative entrepreneur.

Story: I first heard about Stella & Dot from my best friend. She bought Stella & Dot earrings as gifts for all her bridesmaids.

I had never been to a trunk show before, but I knew I wanted to have a creative outlet where I could earn money and have fun. I researched the history of Stella & Dot, their leaders, and the product. I found a company with a team of women who are positive, ambitious, and supportive. So after returning from my best friend’s wedding in Puerto Rico, I signed up to be a stylist. Something about traveling gives you clarity.

Since joining I have new friends in multiple states, my choice of beautiful accessories, and extra money to travel. I work part-time with Stella & Dot and encourage other women to create the means to style her own life by hosting a trunk show or joining the team.
