Mrs. Stevenson's Message

Dear South Creek Families,

I really cannot believe the school year is almost over. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating a new school year with our Gator R’AL’ly and welcoming new South Creek students. We continued to welcome new students and families throughout the year while also creating a climate where every child is successful. The end of the school year always seems to arrive too quickly. I would like to say a special thank you to all our parents, grandparents, and PTO members that volunteered this past year. You have helped make a difference in the lives of our students.

The staff and I would like to extend a special thank you to our South Creek PTO who have sponsored events throughout the school year which have supported teachers and students. I would like to wish our fifth graders the best of luck in Middle School. I know they will represent South Creek very well! We will all miss their energy, spirit, and leadership.

Have a wonderful and safe summer! We look forward to seeing you again in July.

South Creek is a school of hope, guided by knowledge, inspired by love.

Toni Stevenson, Principal

What are you doing over Summer Vacation? by Brody Gilliam

Hey Gators! There are lots of places to go over summer. Are you going to bowl, go to Zip City, Sky Zone, or go to a different state? The real question is, where are you going?

Reece in Mrs. Hubers class, is going to South Carolina to spend time with family.

Garrett in Mrs. Hayes class, is going to New York and Butler for basketball.

Me and my brother are taking trips to places, or going to spend time with a lot of family.

There are lots of places to go over summer vacation. There are lots of things to do. Have fun Gators!

Thinking About the Future by Faith Smith

Hey Gators! Are you excited for the next year? Wel,l it basically is the end of the year and we have all of summer to think about it. So we are saying our goodbyes because these are the last stories we are writing until the fourth graders are fifth graders, and they are maybe going to sign up and write you new stories! So this is a good bye unless we see you in the hallway. Bye!

Goodbye South Creek by Brody Gilliam

Hi Gators, it's Brody here. I won’t be here next year and am very sad. I am going to be in 6th grade next year at Middle School East. I will miss you guys!

Last day of school by Garrett

Hey Gators it's Garrett here. It can be hard leaving and going to another school. It will be difficult not seeing your teachers and friends. Every time you move up a grade it's going to get harder and harder. This is Garrett with his last newspaper story. Good bye Gators!

LAST Recipe Of The Month by Katy Walker

Hey Gators! This is my last recipe this year. This recipe is going to probably be the best one yet! But all I can say right now is that I loved doing this for you guys! I am going to be doing 2 recipes. They are peanut butter and pumpkin dog treats and s’more pie.

S’more Pie

1 graham cracker pie crust

12oz. Chocolate candy bar, broken in pieces

6oz.hot fudge, warmed

30 regular marshmallows

¾ cup milk

2 ½ cups whipped cream (reserve 1 cup for topping)

In saucepan, place chocolate bar, marshmallows and milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows and chocolate are melted. Cool. Fold 1 ½ cups of whipped cream into chocolate mixture. Spread thin layer of warm hot fudge over bottom of pie crust. Gently spoon cooked mixture into crust. Top with reserved whipped cream and garnish with chocolate syrup topping. Refrigerate 3 hours or until set.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

2 ½ cups whole wheat flour

2 eggs

½ cup canned pumpkin

2 tablespoons peanut butter

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll dough into a ½ inch thick roll. Cut into ½ inch pieces. Bake in preheated oven until hard, bake for about 40 mins.

I will miss you guys so much. Not just the students, but the awesome staff too! Next year, I will be going to Middle School East for 6th grade. I hope you guys enjoyed all the recipes I’ve written.

Goodbye To The Gator Gazette by Sienna Garcia

This is the last story of the newspaper for the Gator Gazette. Everyone in the Gator Gazette is writing their last section and saying goodbye. 5th grade is also saying goodbye to South Creek because they will be moving to 6th grade. It's time for end-of-the-year field trips, summer break, and vacation. It is also time to say goodbye to the Gator Gazette. We will be leaving, and next year the Gator Gazette will need new recruits, so be thinking about it! Be creative and inventive through summer break.

Goodbye Gators,

Sienna G.

It's not too late to join the South Creek PTO!

Have fun while helping our school!
