Staff Spotlight
Kim LeRoy
Kim LeRoy has been serving children and their families for 14 years, and for the past 3, has been with Mosaica Education, Inc. on the NCIS team. She is thrilled to be working on ‘Planet Mercury’ this year, and enjoying all of the opportunities, new learnings and challenges it has brought her. Kim is the Great Plains Academy Program Implementation Specialist, as well as the Reading Interventionist for Wisconsin and supports Julie Floyd in Student Support Services, in addition to her continued work on the National Team as a Literacy Coach. She resides in Woodland Park, Colorado, has a 9 year old son, Cameron and is married to the most amazing man in her world, Danny, who is also an educator. In her ‘spare’ time, she gets crafty with beads and interior design, loves hiking, camping and watching movies from the ‘80’s. She has a great dane, Lilly and a cat named Simon, both whom she adopted from animal rescues (she’d have a farm if she could!).
Mercury Sunshine!
We are thinking of:
- Sarah Zayas and her sweet little one Alex. Alex did have a fracture to his palette due to his fall and spent several days in the hospital:(
- Paula Galland's brand new grandson Brogen who had to be admitted to the hospital with a high fever. He is home now and recovering!!!
- Brenda McCullers - her Aunt Patsy who is currently on dialysis and may have to be placed on the kidney transplant list. She had surgery on Thursday.
Club Corner
In our Elementary Book Club this week, students discussed their favorite books!
Online Paragon Nights!
Mercury's next Online Paragon Night will be available to all students, parents, and staff the week of October 29th. It will not be a "live" event this time, but instead a collection of student work for all to view.
We look forward to seeing what our wonderful students have created!

Teacher: When was Rome built?
Pupil: At night.
Teacher: Why did you say that?
Pupil: Because my Dad always says that Rome wasn't built in a day!
