Need to Meet With Administration?
Uplift Hampton Middle School is always delighted to speak and meet with parents. While we make every opportunity to meet with parents, please note that arriving to school to meet with Admin without an appointment may result in a scheduling of an appointment for a different time or day. To ensure timely responsiveness please adhere by the following suggestions:
1. Call Ahead and Schedule an Appointment – By calling ahead, it ensures that parents are able to meet with Admin in a timely matter while respecting your valuable time. At various times throughout the day Admin are in meetings, in classrooms supporting teachers or even off campus for meetings. Without an appointment, it can be difficult to meet with parents right away.
2. Email – All emails addresses can be found on our Uplift Website as well as at the bottom of every newsletter. Emailing can possibly save time by eliminating phone tag especially if a call back may occur during difficult to answer situations such as work hours. All emails will be responded to within 48 business hours.
We thrilled with your outstanding engagement in your child’s education and we thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Additional Information
Dress Code: There have been several dress code violations occurring in the middle school. Scholars are to come in their complete uniform every day. All scholars are to wear their dress uniforms on Mondays which includes a white button down shirt. Bandanas are not part of the uniform and are not accepted as an accessory for anyone on campus. Outer wear (jackets, sweaters, etc.) are to be navy blue, gray, or black. Scholars will be asked to remove all other colors once they enter the building.
Attendance - It’s hard to overstress the importance of your child’s regular school attendance. One of your responsibilities as a parent is to get your child to school every day unless there is illness or an emergency. This is essential because:
- Your child risks poor or failing grades if not at school.
- Learning builds every day on what is learned the day before. This routine is interrupted when students only show up part of the time.
- The whole school can suffer. Schools get state and federal money based on average daily attendance. When attendance goes down, so does the funding a school receives.
- Your child’s life as an adult depends a lot on whether he has a high school diploma. If your child misses too many days of school, he may not be able to get a diploma.
- Much research shows that students who skip school will also skip other commitments, like days of work.

Snack packs will be $3 and can be returned with the permission slip. In technology, we are continuing our unit on research and working on our dream vacation projects. Once complete scholars will take what they have learned and present their findings through power point presentations. We will then be moving into our 3rd unit of digital citizenship. Here scholars will explore the proper technology usage and interaction. Scholars will create a brochure to inform others on the proper way to use technology. Should you have questions, or concerns, I can be reached at MMcwhorter@uplifteducation.org.

Physical Education
In P.E. your scholar should be dressing out daily. In the upcoming unit, scholars will engage in circuit training. Circuit training is a form of body conditioning, endurance, and resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. Mr. X - Hello parents,
I am excited to announce the end of our feminism movement, and the introduction to our persuasive essay. Scholars will be either convincing feminists to continue on with their movement or to discontinue the movement, while simultaneously observing how feminism has affected different aspects of society. The essay will be 4-6 pages – majority of it being completed during the writing portion of our class. Our next unit will be a novel study over the book titled “How Dare the sun rise.” The novel explores the impact of a war on a girl and her family. Scholars will be introduced to the novel through a Socratic Seminar addressing the effects of war on society. Thank you for working with us and for your teamwork throughout the year so far.
Ms. Geiser - Hello parents & scholars! We have been very busy in room 144, but our scholars have been making tremendous progress. We started off the year with doing lots of review and every scholar has been working so hard in the classroom. As we conclude our first quarter and head into quarter two, we will be continuing to advance our math skills. Unit three will take us into graphing and analyzing equations, which will be expanding upon the equation skills that we mastered in unit two. A new update in the classroom is that I will be offering scholars the opportunity to retake any exit ticket from quarter one that they scored below a 70% on. Scholars will just need to sign up using this google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd7PWJDYBiepi2BTU5FKlvUjZTGfCu 45UCz9gKEKFlsHV3VsA/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1 If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me at any time via email at kgeiser@uplifteducation.org Thank you!
Algebra/Geometry
Mr. Bailey - Hello parents,
I’m excited about the second quarter and what we will be exploring in Algebra and Geometry for the month of October. Both classes will be working on a project that applies skills they have learned up to this point to apply in a real world application. In addition, Algebra will be covering polynomials, powers, and linear functions. Geometry we will be covering triangle relationships and how to they relate to real world contexts. We’re ready to go into the rest of the year and I’m excited about the growth they will experience in the second quarter.
Mr. Sanders - Greetings parents and scholars! So glad to make it through the first quarter! I have really enjoyed building the relationships I have built with this group of scholars. All have shown to have potential to rise above those disgruntling obstacles the world obtains. Moving on into second quarter, we will be focusing on Physics (Newton’s Law of Motion, speed, velocity, & acceleration) and topics within Earth & weather. Scholars will also continue developing ideas for their science fair projects that will be due in December. Please keep in mind that the grading policy has been updated: Classwork 10%, Homework 10%, Exit Tickets 30%, and Summative Assessments 50%. For any questions, please reach out to me on “Remind App.” Classes within the app are separated by actual classes. For example, if you are in 2nd period on A-Day, your code is “@Sanders2-A.” I can also be reached by email at jsanders@uplifteducation.org.
Ms. Fudge: Hello 8th grade parents! We are well off into the semester and we have started Unit 2: Road to Revolution. I am looking forward to our scholars Unit 1 Project presentations which should be submitted September 30th (A-Day) and October 1st (B-Day). Please be advised that my tutoring is every Monday from 4:05PM to 5:00PM. Grades will be updated in PowerSchool weekly so I advise if you are concerned about a missing homework assignment please advise your scholar to speak with me and make sure they get it submitted.
