The Passover Lamb

This Wednesday night we will be continuing our study through the book of Exodus as we read about the passover lamb. The main takeaway is that the Passover story gives us a beautiful picture of God's judgement as well as God's salvation. We see the severity of God's judgement as He warns and then unleashes His wrath upon the Egyptians. But we also see the beauty of God's grace as He provides a substitute in order to protect His people from His wrath and free them to worship Him with full and grateful hearts. As God's "passed-over" people, we now celebrate His salvation with joy. For those who would like to read ahead, our passages will be Exodus 11:4-8; 12:1-13. 29-32.

Telling the Truth without Turning into a Gong

I read an article this week dealing with telling truths that may be offensive to someone without trying to intentionally offend them. In the article, Daniel Darling references Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians. Paul says, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. (1 Cor. 10:31–33)"

As someone who generally doesn't care too much about what others think about me, I have struggled with the seriousness of this passage because I generally ignore all the social media banter between this party and that or this agenda and that one. But in truth, what we say matters a lot. Not just to other Christians but to those looking at us from the outside. So even though you may be right in your opinion and the other person or group might really be idiots, is what you are posting or typing or emailing or sharing with others glorifying to Christ? Will it lead others to seek after God? If not then I would commend you to think before you post realizing that your words and your tone have more power than you can imagine. The article is linked below. God Bless!!!!!
