WE NEED YOUR INPUT
We want to provide the best learning opportunities possible to all of our educators in NISD. We need your help to do that.
1. Professional Learning Survey - Please click on the survey link to give us some feedback on several different components of summer professional learning!
2. Call For Presentations - We are so excited to offer the 5th Annual Engage Professional Learning Conference. Engage is a success each year because of the input and leadership of our teachers. If you would like to present at Engage, please click on the Call for Presentations link and fill out the form by April 8th. We will be in tough soon if your session is selected.

Be The One For Kids!
Be the One Who Shows Respect, Kindness, and Love
At this point in the school year, it is often a daily occurrence to see a student, parent, or teacher crying. It happens every year without fail because stress is ever-present in our lives. But it is during these times of stress that we need to remember our purpose. Why are we here? Why are we in education? What are our goals? What can we do to move our students forward? How can we improve our students' learning experience?
I want you to know:
It is okay to be tired.
It is okay to be frustrated
It is okay to feel stressed
It is okay to cry
**it is not okay to take frustrations out on parents, co-workers, and most importantly students. We must be the one to sow respect, kindness, and love!
Things to Consider:
1. How do you model respect, kindness, and love?
2. What is one thing that helps you check your personal baggage at the door each day and be fully present for kids?
GT Updates
Hey there! I wanted to give you a heads up with dates for the GT 30 hours courses this summer. Below is a link to Audra’s Smore with info. Remember, the state of Texas says any teacher with gifted students in their class must be certified with the 30 hours (and the GT State Plan just changed and is much more strict in this regard). There was some leniency this year (especially with a lot of newbies in one grade level J), but before we can place GT kids in your class for next year, we have to have your commitment to take these courses next summer J Let me know if you have questions about how it works J
