Mrs. Ray's Class News
April 2013
What's Happening
We successfully completed our STAAR Math and Reading tests. We should have those results in a few weeks. The Science STAAR test is coming up on April 24. Mr. Kilgore, our student teacher, will be teaching all subjects the next couple of weeks. The students are adjusting well to having two teachers in the room! Even though we're nearing the end of our testing season, we still have a lot of ground to cover in 5th grade. Each day is packed with learning and hands-on activities. We'll start a new Investigations unit in math on Monday, and students should come prepared to begin their book report project that day also.

Think Through Math
I'm so excited to tell you about Think Through Math! This is an online, TEKS based program that tailors lessons and practice for each invidual child. Students earn points and compete for ranking on the leaderboard. We will incorporate this at school as often as possible, but your child may access it any time at home. Please ask your child to show you, and let me know if you have any questions.
