February 1-5 is National School Counseling Week!
National School Counseling Week will be celebrated from February 1-5, 2016. Holbrook's 2nd annual Career Day scheduled for March 2
We are excited to announce that Holbrook will be hosting our 2nd annual school-wide Career Day on Wednesday, March 2. The purpose of this event is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about various careers as well as the education and skills needed to be successful in those careers in the future. Students will participate by attending three 30 minute presentations on the careers of their choice, where they will receive practical information, see demonstrations, and have time to ask questions.
If you have a career that you would like to share with our students and are interested in being a presenter, please RSVP at the link below.
Mark your calendar for our next Parent Night
On Tuesday, March 22, the College Foundation of North Carolina will be presenting a program for students and parents on college and career readiness. The presentation will take place in our auditorium from 6:30-8:00. A separate session for Spanish speaking families will be conducted in our library. We hope that you will make plans to attend! Please contact Ms. Clemmons or Ms. Stokes for more information.
Classroom Guidance
The classroom guidance topic for the month of February is Study Skills. During this lesson, students will learn about time management, setting priorities, taking notes, and developing a study routine. Students will also be provided with several tips on staying organized and keeping up with assignments.
