Therapeutic Support ESY

Dates: 6.15.15 to 7.10.15 Hours: 9:00am - 1:30pm

Welcome to ESY

We are looking forward to seeing your student this summer in the Therapeutic Support Class. I have had many questions about what is the difference between "summer school" and "ESY"?

Summer school is a program that has two 3 week sessions that is primarily for credit recovery students.

ESY is Extended School Year which is a service provided per your students IEP through Special Education, and is one 4 week session. If your child is attending my class this is considered ESY (we don't call it summer school) and it was determined that it was in his/her best interest and would benefit from these extended school year services due to either academic and/or therapeutic needs at this time.

Details to know about:

If your child is going to be late or miss a class please send me an email as soon as you know at cdias@pausd.org.

This summer we will have the following staff working in the Therapeutic Program

Christina Dias - Teacher

Maritza Marez - Therapist

Dennis Ochoa - Instructional Aide

Rudy Suarez - Instructional Aide

Yes! Our hours are different from other summer programs here at Gunn.

I have found that starting at 9:00am works better for our students and they are more productive, so this is why our hours are a bit different. Hours: 9:00am to 1:30pm

Please have your students bring a snack and water bottle. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Thanks!
