From the Principal
One of my favorite aspects of being an administrator is getting the chance to be in so many different learning environments. This week, I had the opportunity to observe in four different classrooms. The learning, engagement, and cooperation viewed in each setting was impressive! I saw students taking part in choice activities, working on targeted skill development, and leading their peers in learning throughout a variety of activities. The communities that have formed in each classroom were evident and made me proud to be a part of the Ferson team!
Our first round of AVIC (Art Volunteers in the Classroom) wrapped up this week. The students were so enthusiastic about the projects they were completing and really enjoyed their time learning about an artist. Thank you to the volunteers who planned amazing activities for our students!
Between our Hat Day last week and our Crazy Sock Day today, we were able to raise over $900 for the Kick-A-Thon! If you are interested in attending the event, come on out to East High School next Friday, October 4th. The Kick-A-Thon takes place in between the Sophomore and Varsity football games, around 6:15 pm. You can see both the East and North Drill Teams kicking with their community and school representatives, including myself! Thank you to everyone who participated in our spirit days!
As a reminder, we will be using the same procedures on Monday that we followed today including the use of bottled water and hand sanitizer, and bringing in prepared lunches. We are working diligently with the Kane County Health Department to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
Have a great weekend!
