From the Director
Dear CDS Community,
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week, students in grades 7 and 8 will take their Term 2 final exams. Students in all MS grades will take World Language exams on Wednesday 12/12.
Please encourage your children to get a full night of sleep on Sunday night. Several scientific studies link proper sleep to our ability to recall information, focus, and make good decisions. Getting a good night's sleep will go a long way in helping your children perform their best exam days.
Next week is sure to fly by as we wrap up Term 2 with the Winter Concert and Candle Lighting Ceremony. As you may recall, next Friday 12/14 will be a half day. Students will be dismissed at 11:20 AM, and buses will depart at 11:30 AM.
Have a great weekend!

Spanish Intermediate Level with Mr. Poch
This week we had our project presentation, a role play activity. We pretended that we were at the restaurant and we ordered some food. Every student created a food truck menu, presented their specialty and made recommendations to the clients (other students).

G8 Science with Mr. Keel
As grade 8 students reviewed for final exams this week, they got a chance to compete in a scientific method experiment matching activity in physical science. Students were able to let off some steam and enjoy a lighthearted interaction with their classmates while reviewing important material for exams.
In the activity, Students outlined different laboratory experiments and aligned each step with the progression of the scientific method. Speed and accuracy were important but the ability to work together, defend and explain choices, and have fun were mandatory.
