The reformation has to do with many things such as maps, people, concepts and religion! This had an effect on people and churches today!

Martin Luther
Martin Luther was a German monk, catholic priest, professor of theology & seminal figure of a reform movement in the 16th century christianity. He was the one to nail the 95 theses to the church door. Martin Luther taught that salvation & subsequently eternity into heaven is not earned by good deeds but is received only as a free gift of God's grace. He also translated the Bible into the vernacular (instead of Latin). It made it easier to read, which had a tremendous impact on the church & the German culture.
Religion
The Aposels were with the Catholic Church. As you could probably tell by the Lutheran church, Martin Luther founded this. The impact of all these things in that you wouldn't be able to get married. This is because you were supposed to be married to the church
Counter Reformation
As the Counter Reformation happened we also had a catholic revival. Responding to the protestant.
