Parent-Teacher Conferences are Coming! Mark Your Calendars.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited for the opportunity for you to join us on Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 4-8 p.m. or Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. for parent/teacher conferences! This is a great opportunity to learn more about how your child is doing academically and socially.
We look forward to sharing and celebrating success while also addressing areas of growth for all of our scholars here at FMS.
Conferences will be conducted in individual classrooms. In order to make sure we meet the needs of each family, we would like for conferences to stay within a 10-minute time window. If you need to have an extended conversation with a teacher, please schedule an alternative conference time.
We are encouraging, but not requiring, the following visit times in order to provide ample time for each family to connect with teachers. If you are able to come during the following times we would appreciate it. However, please come when it works best for your family.
4-6 p.m. - Last names A-L
6-8 p.m. - Last names K-Z
When you arrive for conferences, you will be given a note card that has information to assist with conversations around your student. The focus of our conversations will be around skills and relationships.
In addition to parent/teacher conferences, we will also have a variety of support available for you. There will be technology support available in the media center to provide more information around the parent portal in Infinite Campus. This is the program that allows parents to track attendance, grades and behavior. In addition, we will have booths that provide information around Community Education, RISE and LiveMore ScreenLess.
We will have interpreters available for those who need them.
We look forward to seeing you and your child at our fall conferences!! Excellence is Everywhere at FMS!
Sincerely,
Joe Sage

Weekly Update on Lab-Confirmed Positive COVID-19 Cases at FMS
Dear Falcon Learning Community:
Our commitment to you is to keep you informed of all positive, lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases at Faribault Middle School. We will provide these general notifications each week and will include the total number of cases reported during the previous week. These notifications include cases involving students and staff.
For this week, Friday to Friday we have been notified of 0 (zero) lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our Faribault school community. Of these cases, three resulted in exposure during the school day.
Our district supports personal responsibility to follow the Minnesota Department of Health Recommendations for Handling a Confirmed Case of COVID-19. Please note, per this document, "In the K–12 indoor classroom setting, the close contact definition excludes students who were within 3 to 6 feet of an infected student (laboratory-confirmed) if both the infected student and the exposed student(s) correctly and consistently wore well-fitting masks the entire time." (page 4)
Everyone who has a lab-confirmed positive COVID is encouraged to reach out to those individuals they determine to be close contacts.
All people in our learning environments should assume personal responsibility for their health and safety.
Universal precautions for interactions such as quarantining/isolation and testing are strongly recommended.
Everyone is strongly encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 frequently.
If you are sick, you are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to stay home until your symptoms have improved.
Quarantine is strongly recommended if you are unvaccinated and a household member is positive.
Reporting of positive cases to the program/school is required.
We understand that positive cases may create unease in our community. We are asking all members of our community to minimize the spread of illness by following the above guidelines and protocols.
We will get through this together as a community and will be stronger when we emerge.
