Schools Celebrate Student Success Safely
"This year, of course, did not end like we had envisioned it ending, and so to be able to celebrate these students - even though the school year ended early - is really important for us," said Ballard-Hudson Middle School Principal Dr. Latrina Pennamon-Nash.
At Ballard-Hudson, faculty and staff members were joined by community partners from Beulahland BIble Church and other churches. The District is grateful for the support of all these partners!

Northeast's Dothard Named Counselor of the Year
Congratulations to the 2021 Bibb County School District School Counselor of the Year, Dr. Cathy Dothard!
Dr. Dothard is a Professional School Counselor at Northeast High School. She is approaching her 27th year in education, with the last 21 of those years being at Northeast High School. Prior to becoming a school counselor, Dr. Dothard was a special education teacher at Barden Elementary School.

My desire is for all my students to become productive citizens by using their knowledge, skills, and talents to better their lives and the lives within our community."
Congratulations are also in order to the two Professional School Counselor of the Year finalists, Ana Hernandez at Westside High School and Ingrid Woolfolk at McKibben Lane Elementary School.

District, Libraries Present Summer Reading Program
When students don’t read during the summer months, they can lose up to three months of reading ability. To ensure that Bibb County students don’t fall behind while school is out of session, the District and Middle Georgia Regional Libraries are asking all students to read every day during the summer for a minimum of 20 minutes.
The theme for this year’s summer reading program is “Imagine Your Story.” During the summer break all Bibb County students will have personalized access to high quality digital books in their myOn accounts through their ClassLink portal. In addition to utilizing digital books online, students are encouraged to visit MGRL’s public libraries to check out books once they re-open.
