CGS Weekly Message
10/24-10/28
Good afternoon,
Happy Sunday!
Thank you to all of you that attended parent/teacher conferences last Thursday for our middle/high school students. Your commitment to your child's education is imperative to their overall success. Please keep in constant contact with your child's teacher so that you do not fall behind on your student's progress being made throughout the school year.
Reminder as we are coming up on the cold and flu season: If your student is out of school, please make sure that you call our front office and let Mrs. Lassiter know. You can also contact your child's teacher to make them aware of your student's absence. If your student is out, you must send in a note to excuse their absence. The note should include the child's name, date of absence, and your signature along with a brief explanation of the reasoning for their absence.
Feedback Form FAQ 22-23
“Feedback Form” Submissions from week of 10/17:
Why does 5th grade eat lunch in the classroom? They watch a movie and have very little social interaction during the day. They do not get recess and PE is a structured activity. They have no interaction with the other 5th grade class.
- All elementary classes each lunch in their classrooms due to high school students using the cafeteria for online coursework during elementary lunch times. Elementary classes are always welcome to eat lunch outside together, etc. if they'd like. Now that 5th grade has a new permanent teacher, I'm sure both teachers will continue looking for additional opportunities for students to socialize and interact with their peers.
