Stop B4 U Start
7th and 8th Grade students attended an assembly titled "Stop B4 U Start" on Wednesday, February 21. This assembly was sponsored by the Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE). The messages shared by the speakers were about awareness and prevention, staying true to yourself, and about being a positive presence.
On March 21, OCDE partners will be returning to speak to parents about awareness of TUPE, vaping, and marijuana. This event will be in the Dwyer Auditorium at 6:30 PM and is intended for adults. Please see flier below.
Open House
We are excited that Open House is coming up next week on March 1. Please see the attached flyer for details about the evening. We would love for you to join us for dinner in our cafeteria from 5-6 and hear some of our talented students perform!
PTSA Spring Fundraiser
This year, PTSA has decided to sell items through Mixed Bag Designs for our Spring Fundraiser. The fundraiser will run from February 26 - March 12. Please look in your child's backpack Monday for all the information. An email will also be sent Monday with online ordering information to share with family and friends. Students can earn some great prizes, so please support our school through this fundraising event!
Hands-On Learning
Today in Mr. Keenan's class students had the opportunity to dissect a frog. A frog has many of the same organs as humans and is an amphibian. Amphibian means "double life" do to the fact that they begin their lives in water and as adults transition to land. Many of them spend their lives in water and on land. They return to the water to reproduce.
STEM Challenge
Mrs. French's students created prototypes for a mechanism that collects plastic pollution from the ocean. They were given a few parameters but were left to discuss and design as a team.

Coding for Colors
Superintendent Haulk looked on as our Femineers were hard at work programming their robots to change colors. This is gearing them up for the annual Cal Poly Summit in late April.
