Report Cards and NWEA Reports

Report cards are now digital and will be emailed on Tuesday, Oct. 26th.

NWEA Family Reports will also be sent home on Tuesday. NWEA is the universal screener that we give to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

NWEA MAP Growth Reports

A summary of how your child is performing academically, as measured by the most recent NWEA MAP Growth test will be sent home with your child’s report card. MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance and progress by measuring Achievement and Growth.

What do Achievement and Growth mean?

Achievement- How well your child has learned skills in a subject compared to similar students nationwide

Growth- A measure of your child’s personal progress over the year. This report will include your child’s progress from Fall 2020 to Fall 2021

· Kindergarten students will not have a growth score due to this being their first time testing

· Some 1st-8th grade students will not have a growth score due to testing outside the NWEA Fall testing window in 2020. The necessity for hybrid and remote learning schedules due to COVID-19 impacted the administration of NWEA last school year.

Walk A Thon Pledges Needed!! SEND MONEY TO HELP OUR SCHOOL - Monday- Wednesday

Our Wildcat Walk A Thon was a huge success. Our students and staff had a blast walking and cheering for one another. We had dj, Robbie Britton playing cool music, and Wacky the Wildcat was also a an active participant. EastView would like to thank our fabulous GSIA for coordinating this event.

NOW... We need the pledges turned in to make this the best fundraiser EVER. If every family would contribute something (big or small) it would make a huge difference! If you did not collect pledges, you can send in a flat donation (ex: $25). We will happily take anything you are willing to donate.

WINNERS- Each grade level will have a winner for the student who walked the most laps and the student that raised the most money. Those winners should be announced on Friday, Oct. 29th at our morning assembly.

Fourth Grade Halloween Show

Fourth Grade will perform their Halloween Show on Thursday, Oct. 28th at 12:00 pm. Each student may bring 2 guests due to Covid restrictions (tickets were sent home). The show will be filmed for any family member who wishes to watch later. We will begin accepting guests at 11:30. We need time to stop gym class and set up chairs. Please do not arrive before this time as we will not have any place for you to wait.

Fall Parties- Friday, Oct. 29th

Students will have fall parties on Friday, Oct. 29th. Teachers are coordinating these events and will let you know if they need food items or any volunteers. We are still keeping these parties on a small scale but we want the kids to have this special time.

Goodbye, Mrs. Whitehead - EV counselor

As you may already know, Mrs. Whitehead has transferred to another school closer to home. Mrs. Whitehead was commuting each day and was spending a lot of time away from her family driving each day to EV from Elizabethton. She has found another guidance position closer to home. Although we will miss her greatly, we are very thankful for all that she has done for our EV students.

We are interviewing for a new guidance counselor now and will be without a counselor for a short time. Please contact Mrs. Ford if you have any guidance needs and she can find assistance for your child.

Please ask your child to check our lost and found. We have many coats and hoodies in our Lost and Found. Also, please write your child's name somewhere on their personal items so we can easily find the owners.
