eLearning Office Hours, Attendance, and Student Expectations

On the days your child is in eLearning, his/her teachers maintain office hours each day to be available to answer questions, reteach concepts, go over achievement scores, and simply check in on your Firebird.

Teacher Office Hours:

  • 6th Grade Office Hours: M-TH 1:31-3:15; F 10:10-10:50
  • 7th Grade Office Hours: M-TH 11:38-1:21; F 9:30-10:10

  • Related Arts Office Hours: M-TH 10:08-11:38; F 9:10-9:30

  • In eLearning, your child's teacher will post an attendance question each day. Your child answering this daily attendance question is what counts for their attendance in that teacher's class that day. If they do not answer it by 11:59 PM, they will be marked as absent for that day.
  • Students who are not in attendance for in-person will be marked as absent.
  • If we have No Contact of any kind with your child you can expect the following:

    >Days 1-2; Phone call from teacher or team; Documentation begins; If not successful the student's name is referred to their counselor

Change in Assignment Choice Window Opening Soon

We love our school and hope that you love Fisher just as much. Our school relies on heavily on the applications families complete to be given the chance to be selected in the lottery process later this winter. We serve as an overfill site for Beck, Bryson, Hillcrest, Mauldin, Riverside, and Rudolph Gordon which means by accepting families from these zoned areas we build up our enrollment and help those schools maintain a solid enrollment level as well. A team of Fisher teachers and admin will be meeting with Rising 6th Graders very soon to talk to them about PJFMS and the wonderful things we have going on at our school. You can help us too by talking to your friends, co-workers, family and more about Fisher Middle School and encouraging them to complete an application when the window opens. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Back Pack Sign Up's

In previous SMORE's I provided you with the steps to begin the Parent Back Pack process. While the process has begun for many, it might remain incomplete. The Fisher Middle School office staff is here to help you finish that process for the Parent Back Pack. Once you have begun the application, you may receive this letter indicating your next steps which will include you providing identification to the school verifying your identity. You mail email Erin Karr at with proof of identity and they will help finalize your request. We cannot process your application fully without this vital piece so if you have applied for Back Pack access but have not been approved yet, this could be why. If you have questions, you may call Fisher MS at (864)452-0800 between 7:30-4:30.
