Plano ISD - Parental Engagement Survey
There are many ways in which parents may be involved in the education of their child. Extensive research has shown that activities such as reading and communicating with the child and setting expectations have the largest effect on student achievement. Other forms of parental involvement, such as attendance and participation in school functions, also contribute positively to achievement in school.
This Parental Engagement Survey will help us understand some of the ways in which parents are engaged in the education of their child. This information will guide us in providing support to the parents in our community.
With the 2015-2016 school year in mind, please take a moment to answer this brief survey.
Thank you for your participation.

Nurse’s Notes
Please plan ahead for your 6th grader to obtain his or her required 7th grade vaccinations for next fall. Students are required to have a Tdap booster (within the last 5 years) and one meningococcal vaccine before starting 7th grade. Once these vaccinations are obtained, a copy of his or her updated vaccination record signed by the doctor is needed in the clinic. Some 6th graders have already received these vaccines and are ready to start 7th grade; however, the majority have not, so make your appointments as soon as possible with your child’s doctor! If you have any questions at all, please contact our nurse, Christie Camizzi, RN, at (469)752-6209.
Career Day
The 4th Annual Career Day is coming up this spring on Friday, March 4, 2016. If you are at all interested in presenting to an 8th grade class about your occupation and the path that led you there, please complete the attachment and return it to the front office or Mr. Rubin, 8th grade counselor. Thank you for sharing your talents and insight with our wonderful 8th grade class!
