Born on November 10th, 1896 Andreas Stihl is viewed by many as the father of the modern chainsaw. Stihl was formerly a steam boiler engineer but the product he created in his home shop shaped the future. Over the course of his life he transformed a one man shop and a dream into a world wide multi-million dollar business.
