School Safety is Our Top Priotiy
The Columbia School District, along with others across the nation, extend our sincere support to the victims of the most recent school violence incident in Florida. Please know that school safety procedures are evaluated continuously to ensure we have the best practices in place for the safety of our students and staff.
We continue to make safety the TOP priority for our school community and below are a few things our district has participated in:
- We held important meetings for every Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School student. We showed students the OK2SAY website along with reviewing important safety procedures.
- Columbia School District staff will be participating in an important school safety training.
- We complete safety drills every year that include lock down, fire, and tornado drills.
- All doors including the fitness center entrance are locked during the school day. All visitors must check into the Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School high school office.
- We meet with local law enforcement on a regular basis to ensure school safety.
Please read the most recent Blog Post from Superintendent, Dr. Campbell:
OK2SAY
OK2SAY is designed to empower Michigan students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, and law enforcement to share and respond to student safety threats. Please take some time to look at the website and talk with your student about the importance of reporting.
Congratulations to Alexandria Hall for signing with Concordia University!
