Hello ROYALS! Hello ROYALS!

zoom_out_map

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a well deserved break from school. Here's what you need to know as we get ready to come back on November 29.

Inclement weather reminder

It's important for your Royal(s) to come prepared to be outside before school and during lunch recess. We will allow students into the cafeteria, prior to the start of the school day, on days where the temperature is below 20 degrees or in the event of heavy rain, snow or wind. These decisions are made on a daily basis based on weather but students should always come dressed to be outside prior to school, during lunch recess or in the event of an unplanned building evacuation such as a fire drill.

Traffic reminder

It's time to share some tips to keep all our Royals safe around our parking lot and helping with traffic flow. We want to thank everyone who is already filling each parking space for us as it makes everything run smoother and more efficient. Families who stop to drop off/pick up their student in a place when there is space to move forward hinders the process and makes things move slower for everyone behind them. Please fill all the space available in front of you when dropping off or picking up. This allows for faster traffic flow for everyone and also helps with people turning off Yosemite into the parking lot to get them through more efficiently. With the changing weather and with snowy or icy roads, pulling all the way forward to the car in front of you will also help prevent any parking lot accidents. We realize our system the challenges our lot has and by working together and following these protocols, we believe it will be collaboratively better for everyone involved.

Taste of Quist

As you may know, this year our school is divided into five Prides. Prides are like "houses" within the Quist community. Pride Harambe's focus is on service. Harambe is hosting the "Taste of Quist" at Web’s Winter Wonderland Festival! This is your chance to share a bite of your yummiest family dish with others, and try others’ favorite foods too! On December 9, from 5:30-7:00, please sign up to bring and serve your favorite home-made food with the Quist community. It can be sweet or savory. It does not need to be complicated or holiday related, nor are you expected to feed everyone (a family-sized portion is great). All dishes will be shared in bite size portions. The more tasty food, the better this event will be! Every family who volunteers to bring items or help out will earn PRIDE service points for their student(s). Sign up HERE.

What is your child learning?

Have you ever wondered what your child is learning? Here's a video Mrs. Norris-Buck created to help you find out this information.

We're looking forward to this next week at Quist.

On behalf of the ROYALS Community,

Principal Norris-Buck
